Bringing together experienced professionals, a world-class faculty, and dynamic curriculum, The National League for Nursing’s (NLN) PN/VN Faculty Development Certificate Program provides experiential learning opportunities for nurse educators who desire to improve their knowledge and skills as nurse educators.What you will learn

Each participant will have the opportunity to: 

1. Discuss the levels of nursing education and the roles and responsibilities of the academic nurse educator.

2. Describe the ethical and legal aspects of the nurse educator role.

3. List the steps in developing an effective curriculum.

4. Summarize strategies for implementing, assessing, and evaluating a nursing curriculum.

5. Participate in a mentoring program to aid in transitioning to the role of academic nurse educator.

6. Summarize the various types of technology used for teaching/learning in a nursing curriculum.

Who is this course intended for?

Open to novice and veteran faculty. 

What are the course expectations and progression?

The course is self-paced with each module taking up to 1 hour to complete.  It is recommended that learners take on module per week.  Each module contains content and a brief interactive learning activity for the learner to share insights and ideas on how they are incorportating technology into their teaching and learning and learn from others taking the course asynchronously. 

What kind of technology is required?

Learners will need access to a computer, tablet, or smart phone to complete the course.
