Since the National League for Nursing began setting nursing education research priorities nearly 25 years ago, nurse educators have worked diligently to generate knowledge for evidence-based nursing education, leading to substantial expansion of the body of nursing education literature. With this expansion comes the need for systematic reviews and other forms of knowledge syntheses that make evidence accessible and translatable into nursing education practice. The purpose of this webinar is to describe and compare systematic reviews and other types of knowledge synthesis and to explore the rationale for conducting one type of review versus another.

Do You Know Your Pedagogical Why? Embracing Learning Science in Clinical and Classroom Teaching

Nurse educators are responsible not only for teaching clinical competencies but also for shaping critical thinking,professionalism, and lifelong learning. Yet, many educators have never paused to deeply consider the educational theories that inform their choices in the classroom or clinical setting. This one-hour interactive webinar explores the question: "Do you know your pedagogical why?"

Grounded in the science of learning, this session will guide participants through the foundational learning theories—behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism—and demonstrate how each can influence teaching strategies. Educators will reflect on their own teaching practices and begin to articulate a personal pedagogical philosophy that enhances student engagement and learning outcomes.

Translational Science and Implementation: From Bench to Bedside to Community

Translational research, the process of transforming basic scientific discoveries into real-world applications, has broadened beyond the bench (lab) to bedside (clinical practice) to now encompass community-level (population) interventions and considerations for health equity. This evolution recognizes that translating research effectively requires addressing the social, cultural, and economic, and community-level factors that impact health outcomes and ensure equitable access to benefits.
