Nurse educators are responsible not only for teaching clinical competencies but also for shaping critical thinking,professionalism, and lifelong learning. Yet, many educators have never paused to deeply consider the educational theories that inform their choices in the classroom or clinical setting. This one-hour interactive webinar explores the question: "Do you know your pedagogical why?"
Grounded in the science of learning, this session will guide participants through the foundational learning theories—behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism—and demonstrate how each can influence teaching strategies. Educators will reflect on their own teaching practices and begin to articulate a personal pedagogical philosophy that enhances student engagement and learning outcomes.
To articulate the importance of identifying and understanding one's pedagogical "why;"
To describe the core principles of behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism;
To analyze current teaching strategies through the lens of learning science;
And to apply learning theory to create intentional and effective clinical and classroom teaching practices.
