What is the benefit of this course?

The Future of Nursing Report 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity calls for nurses to take more definitive action on eliminating systemic racism. This challenge requires a rapid evolution in nursing education. Leaders must engage in professional development and continuing education to understand the social and broader structural determinants of health that impact practice, education, research, health care delivery, and health outcomes. In addition, leaders must be willing and able to engage in conversations about race, racism, bias, and discrimination and identify strategies for promoting diverse, equitable, and inclusive teaching, learning, and work environments. Through knowledge exchange and critical dialogue participants will have the opportunity to assess, evaluate and reflect on their current practice while exploring transformative shifts to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, social justice, and health equity.
